Today, the district's carefully curated set of 21 houses features interactive technology installations with a regular offering of public and educational programming for families, students and private groups. Among these houses is the Al Maktoum Residence – one of the most prominent sites in the area, it gives visitors a glimpse into the erstwhile royal residence of His Highness Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, the former Ruler of Dubai.
Known for their keen sense of Emirati hospitality, the museum's team of local and multi-lingual guides are warm and welcoming to the community – especially the youth. Visitors are sure to have a memorable encounter with the city's past at Al Shindagha Museum, Dubai's largest heritage museum.
